Detailed syllabus

  • How a language model works, in one hour and without mathematics
  • Why a wrong answer reads as fluently as a right one
  • Overview of the tools: which one for which use, and at what cost

  • The four parts of a prompt: context, role, constraint, format
  • Start from your documents rather than from the model's memory
  • Fix a disappointing answer instead of starting from scratch

  • Turn raw notes into meeting minutes
  • Draft a first version of a customer reply, in your tone
  • Extract the useful information from a long document
  • Rephrase, translate, adapt for another recipient
  • Compare two documents and spot the differences

  • Detect an invented source or a plausible but wrong figure
  • Proofreading protocol according to what is at stake
  • Personal data, confidentiality, GDPR: the rules to know
  • Your action plan for the following thirty days

How the two days unfold

Each sequence starts with a guided demonstration. You then take over on your own files.

The material for the workshops:

  • your minutes
  • your quotes
  • your customer replies

The second day is devoted to the workshop. That is where the questions come up that never arise with a textbook case.

Learning objectives

  • Identify, in your own work, the tasks where AI saves time
  • Produce usable minutes, a summary and a customer reply
  • Check an answer produced by a model rather than trusting it
  • Spot the situations where AI must not be used

Who it is for

  • Employees in any department: administration, sales, support, production
  • Freelancers and managers of small organisations
  • People retraining, with no prior experience of AI

Prerequisites

  • Able to use email and a word processor
  • No programming skills

Teaching methods and materials

  • Workshops on the documents brought by the participants
  • Guided demonstrations, then immediate hands-on practice
  • Written handout and prompt library provided at the end of the session
  • Eight participants at most, one trainer

Assessment methods

  • Placement questionnaire at the start of the course
  • Practical exercises assessed throughout the workshops
  • Summary exercise at the end of the session, corrected individually
  • Satisfaction questionnaire at the end and three months later
